Financial literacy for students with special needs

This needs to be part of the IEP process. Students themselves must be involved and consideration must be given to work incentives that protect benefits such as Medicaid/SSI. Students with disabilities need to understand the concepts of earning, saving, budgeting, credit cards, and identity protection. There are two parts to Customer Engagement: Education and Guidance. Guidance: The more people a person has to see within a process in order to find out information or get to the final results, the less likely they are to continue through the process. On April 18, National Disability Institute (NDI), the LEAD Center and Municipal Securities Rulemaking Board (MSRB) partnered for the webinar/in-person event, Advancing Financial Literacy for Individuals with Disabilities, to commemorate National Financial Capability Month.
